…was not a very good one.
Friday I had a breakdown of epic proportions similar to something I’d had (at least every other month) before the New Year. Everything negative that I’d choked down in the past couple weeks just came spewing out and snowballed into ridiculousness! My thought process was so negative and I cried so much. Luckily I have an awesome best friend and a great husband and a few awesome Tumblr friends to help me out of the rut I’d created for myself, I just had to take the first step out. Within a few hours I felt better. <3
Saturday was my husband’s birthday! Horray! Old like me :]! Which was awesome, buuuuuttt I ate so. incredibly. bad. ALL day. EVEN HAD SODA. Ughugh. Still not gonna feel down about it, but I NEED to get my eating back on track. I feel like a balloon from probably 2lbs of water weight I put on—it doesn’t help that I’ve got my lovely gift from mother nature atm.
Then today I had a really bad allergic reaction to my inlaws’ new kitten. He’s so cute and I couldn’t resist! But dang, the allergy pill my mother in law shoved down my throat must have been an elephant tranquilizer laced with crack. I was down and out for a few hours and had the most messed up dreams EVER. But I’m okay now and that’s good. Eating’s still not great, but I’m alive.
Oh, and regarding the June 100 Mile Challenge—I’ve accepted the fact that I’m not going to make it this month. I was really bummed about it for awhile and then I realized I was being stupid. I’m just going to try it again and again until I make it! As people have been telling me whenever I complain about how far behind I am, I’ve still gone farther than I ever have in a month! (thank you!) It was a good stepping stone to up my miles to start training for a half marathon in February!
July is a new month—a fresh start with new goals. And it all starts with me visiting my best freaking friend in California! I AM SO EXCITED!
Yesterday was a rest day. Boo. But I needed it. Felt pretty crappy though because I felt more or less like I skipped my workout which isn’t really a good thing. I don’t want to form any kind of eating/exercise related disorder. I keep thinking that I’m not putting my all into things even though I know I am. ~shrug I dunno. Lets blame my meh mood on pms, yeah?
Anyways, 2 miles today with a little sprint in between.
~sigh. So not going to make it…
Freaking SLEEP. ELUDED. UGH. Frustrated. Tried hiking today—we only made it 3 miles because me and my husband were dead from lack of sleep. We had caffeine for the first time in forever last night and it ended up keeping us awake for FOREVER. So we got very little sleep again. But we tried!
Planning on hiking sometime this week, if not the weekend. Or both.
Okay, so we decided to wait to hike until tomorrow because we didn’t get a whole lot of sleep last night. Better to get a good nights rest before a huge 14 mile mountain hike, yeah? So instead we went for a good long 2 hour walk. Ended up going 6.34 miles! Horray!
Still about 20 miles behind of where I need to be at this point, but tomorrow we’re going on a 14 mile hike so we’ll be making some up then. Also, on Sunday we’re planning on taking a really long walk. So hopefully between tomorrow and Sunday I can make up 26 miles and finally be on track!
Walked 1.24 miles today. Ran out of daylight, otherwise we may have gone a little longer. Ended up sprinting/messing around with the Buddy so it was pretty much interval training. My fast is getting faster and I can run run for a bit longer!!! Horray! At least there’s been progress this challenge!
Fireflies are out now. That’s always enjoyable to see!
1.51 miles walked. Kinda crabby so there’s not much else to say.
So. Freaking. Behind.
How in the world are people making this happen? Because I’m only counting miles outside of my daily walk around routine (you know, how much I walk at home to clean and whatnot). I dunno. Feeling really, really down because I’m pretty sure there’s no possible way I’m going to be able to freaking make it. The month is already almost half over and I’m nowhere near where I should be.
Went to New York City for the day with my husband. It was my first time there :]. Ended up walking 13 miles!
top is Central Park, next 2 are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Stegosaurus (my fave!) is in the Museum of Natural History.
Eyaahh…I like Greek mythology. Dionysus is awesome.
All in all a good day. And I made up some miles! Horray!
Yesterday was a much needed rest day, so there will be more miles to be made up. Ughh, so behind. BUT I’M GOING TO FREAKING FINISH THIS CHALLENGE VICTORIOUS!
Anyway, 2 miles today. We walked most at a brisk pace of 3.5mph, then we jogged for a good half mile or so. Then, the last quarter mile, I asked my husband to set a pace and I would try to keep up. I was full out running, borderline sprinting (which I don’t do very fast XD) and I made it to the point that we said we’d stop, albeit I slowed down quite a bit. I still made it! Had to do SOMETHING for National Running Day! Ohhman, those endorphins made me haaaappyyyy!
It’s definitely a challenge trying to fit in these runs on days I have Zumba. This weekend will be a weekend of makeups since we’re going to New York (my first time there!) and we’ll be doing a TON of walking! I look forward to it!!!
Only 1 mile today. It was POURING outside, but we (husband & I) still walked. We only brought one umbrella and it ended up being really freaking cold so we huddled together and walked with our arms around each other! Haha. So, obviously we weren’t walking very fast (average of about 3mph). It was an experience to say the least! Next time we’ll bring both umbrellas so our outside arms don’t get soaked!
Sigh. Looks like I’ve got some more catching up to do!
4.34 miles within 1hr 15mins!
Ohhh, man. This one felt SO good. The weather was gorgeous, albeit partly cloudy and it started to rain right near the end of the trip. But, man, 72 degrees was PERFECT for running.
We (husband & I…& the dog!) ran the first mile. Well, jogged, because I don’t run very fast. My calves were DYING even though I had stretched them, but I pushed through and made it! Then we walked for awhile, but kept it brisk. WE SAW A HORSE. Yep, someone was horseback riding on the trail. It took all my might not to go up and be like: PLEASE LET ME PET YOUR HORSEEEE!!! Hahah.
We started goofing off a little around mile 2. There was a cool rock structure on the side of the trail that I climbed up:
See? Being an idiot! Hahah. Bandit looks like a small awkwardly colored bear, which is hilarious.
We also started skipping, galloping, and running backwards. It was definitely interesting to do and still got the heart rate up! Probably good to work other muscles too—ahh, the benefits of being silly! XD
Then the last 3/4 mile we decided to jog again. Felt great! It started raining a little the last 1/4 mile, and the wind picked up and everything around me was just so gorgeous! AughhhIloverunningoutside! Luckily we got out just in time because it started to rain harder/storm as soon as we got in the car!
I’m so excited for tomorrow’s go! Almost caught up with my miles! Horray!
4.62 miles over 1hr 40mins. We (husband and I) stopped for about 15 minutes to let the dog swim in the river, so that added a bit of time. Our pace was pretty good. We were aiming to walk about 6 miles (since we didn’t walk yesterday due to weather) but I ended up having to freaking PEE, so we had to cut it a bit short. Booo bladder! XD At least we made up some miles!
Was a good walk, though. I need to remember to bring my camera. I mean, my phone has a camera but I’m not sure if it will work while the Runtastic app is running. Something to try for next time!
Total Miles: 4.62/100
